We’re super excited! For the first time ever, The Triplett Sisters are offering a Block of the Month for a beautiful 19th century friendship quilt in the Poos Collection. The quilt is dated 1856 with names of a Huguenot family from New York. The quilt is a feast of original and unique blocks which are available as a pattern or as a fusible kit. To learn more, please follow this link.

This beautiful antique quilt is featured in The Triplett Sisters new book, Pioneer Quilts: Prairie Settler’s Life in Fabric – Over 30 Quilts from the Poos Collection. (Hmmm, maybe we needed a longer title?) The book has 5 projects in it, but the projects don’t include this special quilt. If you are interested in purchasing the book, please follow this link.

To celebrate the launch of the new book and the block of the month quilt, we are offering the first month’s block pattern free with purchase of our book, Pioneer Quilts. We’ve never offered a gift with purchase, so that tells you how excited we really are. To help you be inspired by different approaches to the Huguenot Block of the Month, we’ve got three different styles being made. Barb Eikmeier will be using the pattern with 19th century reproduction fabrics and the back basting method of applique. I will be using the fusible kit with hand painted details. Kay Triplett will be doing needle turn applique with bright contemporary fabric.

We hope each of you will join us on this journey, creating your own version of the Huguenot quilt! We’ve set up a Facebook group to allow us to all work together on the Block of the Month. There you will see each of us posting our blocks, as well as others inspired by the quilt. To follow the different versions as they are being made, click on this link. I hope to see your own version of the block on our Facebook page too!
