We are happy to announce that our BOM: The Wedding Album Quilt has an exhibition scheduled at the Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival June 15-17, 2023. (Here is a link to learn more about this festival.) Quilters from around the world are participating in creating their own version of The Wedding Album Quilt. If you are interested in making this quilt, please do, there is still time to get your version included in the exhibition. (Here is the link to the pattern.)

The Triplett Sisters like to encourage a variety of techniques, colors and interpretations to be used in their BOMs. This creates a unique exhibit as you compare and contrast the changes to the original pattern. There are a variety of background fabrics, different layouts, printed fabrics, and hand painted fabrics. Applique techniques used vary from needle turn, back basting, fusible, applied treatments, and cut-out applique to name a few.

So, what techniques will you use on your version of The Wedding Album Quilt? There is still time to participate, and we’d love to have you join us. (I’m just getting started too!) Here is the suggested timeline for those interested in participating:

April 30, 2022 Get pattern/pull or purchase fabric/Get started

January 31, 2023 Submit photo of quilt top for consideration to be included in the exhibition (doesn't have to be complete)

February 15, 2023 Selected quilt artists notified of inclusion in exhibit

June 1, 2023 Ship completed quilt with return label to QTC (if overseas, you will be asked to ship earlier)

Besides having the opportunity to see the exhibit in person, we will feature the completed/selected quilts in a blog article and a video. Hope you’ll join the quilting fun!
