Triplett Sisters Block of the Month
Triplett Sisters Block of the Month!
Our first Block of the Month: “1856 Huguenot Friendship Quilt” just completed an exhibition at the Houston Quilt Festival. We had the original antique quilt, plus seven different versions of the quilt hanging for all to see. It was wonderful to view the variety of methods and approaches next to each other. We’ve worked on creating a video of the exhibition and when it is available, we will post on our YouTube page. Until then, I’ve included photos of the quilts in this blog.
We also plan to have an exhibition of our second Block of the Month: "The Wedding Album Quilt." (Don’t worry, if you haven’t started yet, everyone works at their own pace.) In fact, I hadn’t started yet either, because as a single person I was having some inspiration issues with a “wedding” quilt. I finally figured out I needed to do an “Un-wedding” album quilt, so I plan to start next month. If you’d like to join us on this pattern here is a link to purchase and get stitching. We are planning to apply for an exhibition for "The Wedding Album Quilt" for June of 2023.
The 2021 Triplett Sisters Block of the Month is “Bird in a Lace Cage.” It has an amazing center bird block with a unique frame around it. Many are just getting started on this quilt as well and we welcome more participants! Please don't be imtimidated by the cage, as my sister says, "it's just one stitch at a time."
Which brings me to the upcoming 2022 Block of the Month, "Diamante and More", which is an English Paper Piecing Quilt Along. There are 12 different designs, with 3 different size options. I’m still working on designing the pieced border, but here is a sneak peek. I plan to have the pattern and kits available this month, with the first block starting in January 2022. This should give everyone plenty of time for prep[ing fun! Look for the announcement coming soon...I hope you join me on this Block of the Month quilting journey too!
